How’s YOUR Stress Level at Work?

mail.google.comLast week was crazy for me for some reason at the church office. Each day was filled with meetings, office interruptions, phone calls, small fires, big fires, deadlines, year-end budget finish up, monthly financial, staff calendaring day which started out a disaster, and you know the rest! It started Sunday night and by Tuesday morning i had a “flame out”! My inner flame that drives my passion and desire for administration was getting weaker and weaker and by Tuesday am it actually went out for a few minutes! During lunch that day i sat alone and prayed and my flame came back on! God is SO good! By Wednesday my flame was getting back to normal and when i left the office Thursday it was back and glowing! Whew, that was close! I don’t ever want my passion and desire and love for the work i do to ever go out!  Ever!

During that short break on Tuesday i starting analyzing the problem and came to realize i was overwhelmed with all that i mentioned above! I started to write down and identify stress points i was dealing with. I reflected on a presentation i have made several times where i talked about stress and it helped me greatly. There are five things we can do to decrease, reduce, lessen, and shrink stress in our lives. Have you ever experienced a “flame out”? What do you do about it? One thing i am learning every day is that i need to delegate more and that will in turn relieve a lot of stress. There are many great benefits to delegating and they are not just for you but also for the people you delegate to. Try the article below for more information about stress and delegating!
