Have Fun in the Church Office ~ Part 5

This entry is part 4 of 6 in the series Team Building

This week in the series is a big event and well worth all the effort and planning you will give to it. It will take most the day and will cost you $$ per person. In my research of team building i discovered that it is hard to not like someone while having fun together. In your office there is more than likely a few staff that don’t really get along very good. This event overrides conflict and forces compatibility with fun as the medium.

I saw people that did not get along in the office bowling together as a team and having a blast. While having fun the negative relationship is put aside and you can see that person as real and caring.

Depending on your location begin looking for an entertainment facility close by. I used a place called Main Event in Grapevine, Texas that offered team building packages for businesses. This was a planned event on a weekday again for the whole staff.

TEAM BUILDING PACKAGES- We again loaded up the staff on a our church bus and traveled about 30 minutes to Grapevine, Texas. There we ate lunch, had a bowling tournament, played video games as teams, and shot each other in Laser Tag. What an incredible event! I was fortunate that the facility already had team building packages set up. On the way home the pastor surprised us with a stop at the ice cream store for a treat for all. He paid too!

NOTE: With a little planning you can put your own team building package together at an entertainment place like a bowking ally, go carts, or Putt Putt. Create some random teams, buy some small but full prizes and keep scores. Be creative! Just remember your goal is to build relationships and create a team atmosphere in the office. Our staff talked about this event in the office for weeks and weeks!
