Tell me why the plumbers house has leaks, the auto mechanic’s car needs repair, the doctor has sick kids, and business managers file their taxes late? Life is funny!
ALL CAUGHT UP
Last Wednesday for some odd reason i felt caught up for the first time in several months. I have been buried with special projects and just plain everyday business. It was an incredible feeling to not have the deadline stress we all feel at the office. Well, it lasted through Thursday and i was actually doing some things i love doing without any pressure.
I spent Thursday looking at the last two years financial reports running some stats to look at. I created some very interesting graphs on income and expense for the past two years. I love uncovering trends and looking at the forecast. I spent most the day entering data and printing. It was cool to see where we had been and maybe a glimpse of what this next year will hold for us.
NOT ALL CAUGHT UP
Anyway, the “caught up” feeling soon disappeared by Thursday evening. I was just about to sit for dinner and the music minister called saying the church bus broke down AGAIN on the side of I35 south, 45 minutes away and needed me to come get them. Long story short it all worked out for the passengers but now i have a bus to pick up and figure out the problem. On Friday my CPA calls and my 2008 tax return is done. ( Yes i filed for extension). I owe, I owe, so off to work i go!
JOB OPENINGS
I am still two people short in housekeeping at work and can’t seem to fill the positions. I now know why unemployment is 9.7%! I received 30+ job applications and most candidates could barely fill out the form. I am wearing out my supervisor and other staff being short for so long.We need a training program for people looking for jobs!

What saved the day on Thursday was some good ole….OFFICE GOLF! I have not laughed that hard in a long time. We started down the skywalk, down some stairs, and down the hall in the children wing. Hazards were whatever got in the way. Just as i hit my ball down the hall the cleaning lady came out of a room with her cart and my ball stuck underneath. Had to hit it from there! We played three courses one having to go UP stairs and one DOWN stairs.
